We must create a comfortable envioronment for each of our guests and members by interacting properly with everyone who sets foot on our church’s property – from first-time guests to long-time members. The primary purpose of our First Impressions Team is to influence the most important people on our church grounds...our first-timer guests...in a positive manner. The pre-service mission, if we choose to accept it, is to do everything we can to take our guest’s guard down (and even put a smile on his or her face) before the service even begins.
There are four primary ways we can influence our guests during the pre-service:
1. By controlling how they are greeted;
2. By controlling how they are directed;
3. By controlling how they are treated;
4. By controlling how they are seated.
This book was written primarily for Disciple Makers International Churches, but any church can adapt it to their church culture or create a brand new culture if necessary.
